Your Chance To Go To The Mission Field - Note from a Mom in Tampa FL

Dear faithful prayer warriors, It’s October already and time to start planning for the next Mission Week, this month is also special with our involvement in the National First Priority movement "Kah-riss 10.11 - Trust Him"! We are planning for Thursday, October 27th from 11am-1pm!! Since there was such an enormous turnout of students last month, and the push of grace through Kah-riss it looks like we’ll need a lot more parents to help make this happen. If you’ve been waiting to be part of something truly spectacular, in my opinion this is it!

I was talking with another mom the other day about how much we both enjoy Mission Week and how much we get back from it. Perhaps it’s kinda like the mission trips we hear about at church. Those that go always seem to say that they were more changed and grew more in their faith then probably all the people they ministered to. But they best part is you don’t have to fly to a foreign country, get a bunch of shots and have everything you say translated. So, here’s your chance to go to the mission field…and be blessed beyond what you would expect! By His Grace.

New Update from FP South Florida - June 2011 Newsletter

We just got in FP South Florida's June Newsletter, WOW, it is power packed. God is doing so many things through the faithfulness of that team serving the local church in Miami Dade / Ft Lauderdale. We wanted to give you a sampling of what is found in this months mail out.

Uniting the Church to Reach the School with the Gospel

We Just completed an incredible year of camus ministry, finishing with 132 school clubs, thousands of teenagers saved!! While that is very exciting, there is much more value to what we do than such numbers. Each of our school clubs represent an outreach station bringing the life changing message of the Gospel to the school each week.

Every one of those students who made a salvation decision now has a different eternal destination... that is what we are all about. Our purpose is to get each of these new believers connected to a local church to experience a great summer in youth group going to camps, Bible studies, and mission trips.

Cool testimony for FP Parent, check it out!!

I can’t say enough what First Priority has done for my 15 yr old; and hopefully will continue to influence the 3 kids following her! She began attending meetings as soon as she was able, inviting friends to come along – one morning we invited so many they would not fit in my car, and as my minivan was in the shop, I took the 22 ft RV through the carline at 7:30 AM in order to drop off 8 kids for a FP meeting!

One of our neighbors who didn’t want to ride the bus attended with us in the mornings, and forged a previously neglected friendship, enabling that girl to attend church and retreats with us, where she also invited her friends. Because of these friendships, 3 girls gave their lives to Christ, and my daughter has a new, dependable sister in Christ who encourages her on her walk.

It wasn’t until 9th grade that she got involved in the Leadership of FP – and in doing that, realized that even more so, her walk needed to match her talk. She faces mistakes head-on, but her walk with Christ is alive and thriving, with the Holy Spirit keeping her honest. I am grateful for the influence this group has had, and will continue to have in her life!

April 2011 eUpdate...

Dear Friend,

There is no telling how many times I have been the guest speaker over the years at what we now call Mission Week (used to be: Seek Week and then Hook Week). Each time I get so exited about what God does.

Yesterday, I was speaking at Coral Springs HS, and I have been there so many times in the past and once again, I was blown away! I had 20 minutes of the students undivided attention, I walked them down the Romans Road, gave an invitation and 5 students prayed in front of their peers to receive Christ as their Savior and Lord.

That never gets old. I was impressed with each student as I was able to talk to each one and I truly believe they were genuine decisions. Please pray for these 5 students.

Dear Youth Pastor/Leader,

There are over 1700 students at Celebration High School and most students do not attend church or a youth group. This year, I have met more and more students that have never been told about Jesus. Because of the separation of church and state, I am limited in what I can say. However, my heart breaks for the students that are hurting everyday and don’t have anywhere to turn. I have been continually reminded that we desperately need a campus ministry.

We have not had any form of campus ministry at CHS for a few years and the harvest is ready. We are looking for fellow youth pastors and youth leaders that have a heart for the students at Celebration High School and would be willing to help out. First Priority provides a structure and schedule for building a religious community on campuses. They have successfully brought churches together to minister in schools across the country. First Priority believes in empowering students to be missionaries on their own campus and presenting the gospel repeatedly.

In order to make this happen, we need youth pastors and leaders to train the Christian student leaders. They need to be trained how to give their testimony and present the gospel. The amazing benefit for you and your ministry is that it opens the door to an incredible mission field. We are not looking to start a youth group on campus and will need good Bible-believing, Jesus-loving churches and youth groups to plug students into.

On Friday, April 1 at 9 am, we are meeting to discuss a campus ministry. We hope to have several youth pastors and leaders attend. If you are interested in learning more, please let me know. I hope to see you at our first meeting! We will meet at Celebration High School in my classroom (6-101). Please feel free to contact me to RSVP or ask questions. This is an open meeting, so please feel free to invite other youth pastors and leaders that would be interested.

Cool stuff happening in South Florida, check it out

February was a very exciting month for First Priority. As usual we had some awesome Mission Week meetings on campus and many decisions for Christ were made.

One campus that stood out to me was New River Middle. One the day that I had the opportunity to speak there, I really messed up may schedule and I was scheduled to speak at Murray Middle in the morning which is in Stuart, FL. That meeting was at 8:00 AM. Then I had to drive down to Fort Lauderdale to speak at New River at 3:30, then I had Marlins Bible Study up in Jupiter that night at 6:30...needless to say, I spent a lot of time driving that day. And when I finally got home at around 11:00 PM, I was exhausted.

Back to New River Middle. This was a new club and it was there first Mission Week meeting and it could not have gone any better. The students followed the plan, prayed for and invited their friends and they SHOWED up! Not only that, they had candy bars for the first time visitors, the pizza was on time, we had 3 teacher sponsors and the campus coach organized a great ice breaker to get everyone involved. Then I had 25 minutes to give a clear gospel message and then the Lord moved. 13 students came to Christ that day and everyone left with amazement and and excitement from the Lord.

Plus at Murray Middle School, 4 students came to Christ...All the miles I drove and time spent in the car that day were well worth it... Chris Lane - Executive Director

Incredible Updates from FP Greater Decatur today...

WOW. So today i head over to speak at fp at Hartselle Jr. High for hook week. So we are handing out the decisions cards for students to fill out as they come in, and I see a kid named Colton who is filling his out and he already marked rededication so I tell him that, "hey bud that part is for decision time". He tells me that for the past month he has been dealing with wanting to get right, and he tells me that he wants to get right with the Lord and get back involved in church.

Now if it wasn't for fp that kid couldn't have made that decision cause he wasn't going to church but thanks to FP he makes it at school. come on now give me a AMEN!!!!!!!!! Dudes this is all before the Gospel is even presented now if that doesn't fire you up.. So then I presented the gospel and we had 23 decisions.

At the same time over at the Hartselle High School one of my students in my student ministry whose name is Jordan and he is battling cancer is sharing the gospel. They had 300 students and 3 gave their lives to Christ. Also they collected a love offering for Jordan to help with his treatments and they gave $600.00. WHEWWWWWWWWW.

Just some of the cool things that God is up to in Decatur, AL, sent over by one of their Area Directors, Brandon Starnes.
